How we develop enduring value
To create a business with enduring value, without the owner, we must first measure how transferable the key aspects of the business are, outside of the specialisation area.
We realised this after 20 years of business ownership: the architecture around the specialisation is what makes a business transferable. We developed a model so you can easily measure yourself against this idea. We call it SPECS.
SPECS is a five zone model that we measure and build against. Once we have a deep dive on how you measure against the SPECS model, we build a clear action plan for the next 6 to 24 months, so the work you commit to doing actually helps you reach your goals and grow value. Is the diagnostic really free?
Yes. You run it, you keep the report, there is no catch and no obligation to go further.
Will it work for my industry?
Yes. We have worked across construction, law, industrial services, HR and professional services. The method reads the value built around your craft, so the industry you are in does not change how it works.
How big does my business need to be?
We work with a range of business sizes. Our sweet spot is a team of 10 to 50, or any point where you already have a team around you that can help you grow. Below a team of 5, we would suggest doing some independent growth work first.
What if I just want the plan and want to run it myself?
That works. You can take the plan and run it. Help implementing is there if you want it, and it is never required.
How are you different from a business coach?
We build. A coach works through the thinking with you, and that has its place. We design the systems with you, test that they hold up in the business, then hand them over so they run without us.
Will I be locked into a platform or a subscription?
The systems we build inside your business are yours to own and run. The one ongoing option is the Lumia platform on the people side, and you can leave any time.
Where are you based and who do you work with?
Our office is at the Innovation Campus in North Wollongong, NSW, and we also operate out of Perth, WA. We work with owner-run businesses across Australia, in person and remotely.
What does an engagement cost?
Monthly engagements start at $1,500 per month for Explorer, $3,500 for Momentum and $5,500 for Legacy, in Australian dollars and excluding GST. The diagnostic that comes first is free. Larger builds are scoped separately.
